In recent years, Baltimore has been under a microscope regarding the large number of vacant and deteriorating properties in various parts of the city. While it has been apparent for many years, nothing has been done. This week, Mayor Stephanie Rawlings-Blake and Governor Larry Hogan announced a nearly $700 million plan to demolish and rebuild thousands of those suffering properties over the next four years. In the first year, they hope to demolish and revitalize 20 blocks total.
