When the former restaurant sold ahead of the scheduled auction date this summer, the Haussner building planted itself in the foreground of many Baltimore residents and Highlandtown neighbors. With watchful eyes, many awaited the decision of developer Peter Garver, the new owner of the property. Last month, Garver announced the decision to develop the iconic plot into a mixed-use apartment complex sporting up to 65 units and ground floor retail space. The development will begin with the demolition of the century-vacant Highlandtown anchor.
